The project clearly establishes a link between the countryside and the sea within the urban environment. Beginning with a green corridor, akin to a valley descending from the mountains and weaving through the urbanised area, it traverses the evocative Fossato di Torre Santa Maria, continues through the Historic Core, and culminates at Largo Diomede on the waterfront. The point shaped like a promontory entering the Port, known as the "terrace over the sea," marks the final destination of this route The project includes relocating the car park to an area near the port, allowing for the pedestrianisation and redevelopment of Piazza Diomede. This area, enhanced by the restoration of the historic walls, can now be effectively used for events. The design features include green spaces with low hedges and a water theme that ties into the broader Lama Scaloria Park regeneration project, bringing the square to life with a riot of water games for children to enjoy during the summer. The intervention on the "blade" encompasses landscape recovery, hydrogeological adjustments, and safety enhancements. Along the upper edge, there is a thematic garden, rest areas, and a cycle and pedestrian path, all seamlessly integrated into the landscape.
